District 5 – Treasurer/Secretary. Jacqueline Janssen was appointed to Marin Women’s Commission (MWC) in 2016. Working for women’s equality has been a theme throughout her life. Ms. Janssenspoke at the first Women’s Summit in Santa Cruz Countywhich led to requests for support for women and men in small businesses. Janssen & Associates was launched in 1978 and since she founded or co-founded nine businesses, selling 6 of them. In 1996, Jacqueline added corporate Executive Recruiting and her team currently recruits leaders for nonprofits across the Bay Area and beyond. In 1997 she created a mentorship program for women moving from welfare to work, the Coalition of Mentors for Success. As a member of the Board of Directors of NAMI Marin, she was a trainer for the Family to Family program for families affected by mental illness. A member of the Mental Health board in 2006, she and two other mothers, working with the County of Marin, created the Family Partnership Policy.
Jacqueline created Women Can Negotiate, a training program launched at the YWCA SF-Marin. She founded the Marin Founders Celebration, an annual event at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, and co-founded Architects of Opportunities, a weekly TV series on nonprofit founders. She advocates for Interim Executive Directors during nonprofit transition, founded and is Board President of the National Association of Accredited Interim Executive Directors, NAAIED.org.
Jacqueline is a Nominated Changemaker for the White House’s United State of Women. She is a member of Int’l Association of Feminist Economics, Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants, Wednesday Morning Dialogue, California Association of Nonprofits, co-author of two books, graduate of UC Berkeley and a native Californian, living in Marin County since 1988.
